Can #WFH be 2020’s ultimate workplace trend?

Teleworking and telecommuting have become the new reality for many of our industries.

It’s impossible to know what the future holds. However, one thing we’ve seen over the last few weeks is that #WFH culture is actually thriving. Team members are making the extra effort to communicate better and engage more with others. Maybe because of the fact that we’re being told to “social distance” and so the human in us just signals our brain to crave more of what we can’t have…

Shifting to digital and going for virtual coffees instead

How many times have you accidentally left a meeting, shared the wrong screen, or you’re already halfway through your sentence and realised your mic is on mute? Well, you’re not alone!

We are all in the process of figuring out this new normal, and along with it comes an abundance of trials and errors. Thanks to all the tech geniuses and YouTube videos for prepping us to navigate through this.

In today’s era of AIs and VRs - it’s shocking to see how behind we are from adapting to these trends. Nobody could have expected a Coronavirus pandemic to be the driving force behind getting us to jump on Zoom and Teams as we get ready for those daily huddles - with our cuppa, clanking to our screens… and when did we ever “cheers” to coffee, anyway?

The point is, we are doing it!

Communities are learning to collaborate more

Tough times have called for us to act as one and treat everyone with empathy. We are seeing communities gather through webinars sharing insights to help us navigate through this unprecedented time.

A cry to lean on each other and support local businesses has never been this loud. Various brands are reaching out to like-minded organisations to collaborate more to better serve the community, as well as staying afloat.

There’s a sense of camaraderie and collaboration in our community right now that will definitely spring into new business ventures, more meaningful partnerships, and empathising individuals.

We are becoming more experience-driven and human-centric

As we come up with strategies on how we can pivot towards coming out of this crisis, one thing has remained constant to us - the people. We are forced to perform drastic measures to cope with the circumstances - all revolving around our team and our clients.

We have integrated tools and platforms to speed up our internal process to achieve a shorter response time on-site and off-site. We realised that now more than ever, providing a seamless and personalised experience are few of the things that we can guarantee our clients during these adversities.

To cap it all off

We are in the midst of transitioning to this new normal. We have seen businesses adapt, teams becoming hyper-productive, and we are making it work. Proving that we are indeed eager to adapt to changes in times like these - what could this mean to the future of our workplaces?
